Frequently asked questions
How often should I replace my chain?
Typically every 2,000–3,000 miles, but it depends on conditions and maintenance. We check with a wear gauge — if it's stretched beyond 0.75%, it's time. Replacing early saves your cassette.
What's chain waxing?
An alternative to traditional oil lubrication. A waxed chain runs cleaner, quieter and lasts longer between applications. We can set up a waxed chain for you — ask for details.
My chain is skipping — what's wrong?
Usually a worn chain on a worn cassette. If the chain has been left too long, the cassette teeth become hooked and a new chain will skip on the old cassette. We'll assess and advise honestly.
